When you think of an athlete's well-being, you probably think of their physical health first, right? My team saw this as an opportunity to shine a light on the mental health of NFL pro athletes by tracking them with wearable tech and connecting them with the right support to enhance their overall health, not just what we see on the field.

We set out to create a product that could detect potential head trauma in real time. The result was a mouthguard equipped with specialized sensors that register sudden, high-impact collisions and send that data to medical professionals. From there, they could create an off-field care plan to address not only physical injuries but also potential mental health concerns that often show up first.
Outcome
This was my first deep dive into building a physical product, since most of my work up to that point had been in digital prototyping. Our team placed 3rd and earned Best Business Plan for sourcing materials and presenting a clear, actionable execution strategy.
